Amongst all the play-off buzz currently sweeping the city in support of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors, the lesser spoken of Toronto Wolfpack are beginning to lighten up audiences across the pond.

For the Wolfpack have become the world’s FIRST transatlantic team this season, joining the third tier of English Rugby League (League 1) with high ambitions to reach the top tier (the Super League) within five years.

The Wolfpack are currently off to a excellent start in their inaugural season, notching up 5 wins out of 5 in the League (seeing off North Wales Crusaders convincingly by a scoreline of 80-0 last time out) and progressing to the fifth round of the Challenge Cup which will see them test their credentials against Super League side Salford Red Devils.

The first home fixture for the Wolfpack (at home ground Lamport Stadium – aptly named “The Den” – in Liberty Village) is on the 6th May against Oxford. Generally, league fixtures will be played in blocks of four in the UK and four in Canada.
